Mary Beth Hinton,  has been an editor since 1984, both as an employee of Syracuse University and as a freelancer. Her experience includes copy editing, content editing, and developmental editing. She has edited books, doctoral dissertations, journal articles, exhibition catalogs, grant proposals, newsletters, brochures, reports, Web pages, and other publications. For nine years, she was the editor of a scholarly journal. Syracuse University Press published her edited volume, The Diaries of Marya Zaturenska, 1938-1944. From the distinguished former managing editor of SU Press, Joyce Atwood, Mary Beth received private instruction in book editing. She holds master's degrees in adult education and English literature (with distinction).

Mary Beth specializes in scholarly projects. She has been particularly helpful to book and dissertation writers who have reached an impasse.
